You can review a vendor only after scanning their PopZ QR code or NFC tag at the stall, shop or meeting, and within the time allowed after the scan. Each account has one counted review per vendor at a time and can review again after a waiting period. At most two accounts on the same phone can review the same vendor.
- It is about your own experience with this vendor: food, products, service, price, cleanliness, waiting time.
- It is honest and fair, even when it is negative.
- It is specific: "the nasi lemak was cold" helps more than "bad".
- Photos show what you bought or the stall, not other people.
- hate speech, harassment, threats or personal attacks, including insults about race, religion, gender, disability or nationality;
- personal data: phone numbers, IC numbers, home addresses, car plates, or photos of people's faces without their consent (staff faces are blurred on request);
- sexual, violent or shocking content;
- spam, ads, or links promoting another business;
- reviews given in exchange for anything: money, discounts, free items or lucky draws;
- conflicts of interest: reviewing a vendor you own, work for or have family ties to, or a competitor;
- accusations of crimes you can't prove, such as "he is a scammer". Describe what happened instead: "I paid a RM 200 deposit on 3 May and it wasn't returned";
- content about a different vendor, or copied from elsewhere;
- anything else that is illegal in Malaysia.
- Display your QR code or NFC tag openly, for every customer.
- You may ask customers to review you, but never reward them for it or ask only the happy ones.
- Owners and staff, and the phones they use, can't review the page. Don't review competitors.
- Never pressure or threaten a customer to change or remove a review.
Breaking these rules can lead to reviews being counted less, a public "Suspicious review activity" notice on your page, your tag being disabled, or your page being suspended. The Vendor Terms set out these rules in full.
Automatic checks look at location, time, device and account patterns. Suspicious reviews may be held, counted less, or removed, and our team looks at the flagged ones. Reviews from accounts with a good history count more, and newer reviews count more than old ones.
Anyone signed in can report a review, a review photo, a vendor's reply, a vendor page or a user profile, with a reason. A reported review stays visible while we look at it, unless several people report it or it contains personal data or explicit content: then it is hidden until we decide.
You can reply publicly to any review of your page. If a review breaks this policy, you can dispute it with a reason and evidence. We aim to decide within 3 working days: keep it, remove it, or ask the reviewer to edit it (for example to remove personal data).
Vendors can't delete reviews, and a review is never removed just because it is negative.
We tell you and give the reason. You can appeal once, and a team member looks at it again. Repeated breaches can lead to your account being suspended.
If you believe a review or page is defamatory or unlawful, send a takedown request, or email support@popz.my with the subject "Takedown request". Include your name and contact details, a link to the content, what is wrong and the legal basis, and any court order. We log and review every request, give you a reference, and may ask for more information.
PopZ hosts content written by its users. We keep visit records that show a review came from a real visit, which helps settle disputes fairly.
